...would be Harpo's mom! As of 3:00 this afternoon (and 4 court visits, a lot of tedium, legal notices three weeks running, and certified letters to all of my creditors), Cait and I are now both legally and officially Cait and Jen SameLastName!
NOW, Harpo, you can REALLY be born.

So exciting!!! You may have talked about this before, but do you mind sharing how you decided on a last name? My wife and I are having SERIOUS problems making this decision.
Yea for the SameLastName family!

It's really a shame that this is as momentous an occasion as it is. Congrats, in a "our country sucks for not recognizing that love is love, no matter who the players are" sort of way. Enjoy the hassles that come with a name change!

It's a great feeling isn't it??? We did that on Friday - and we both talked about feeling like...we were somehow now "more" a family...even though our names shouldn't really matter....it did.
Good luck on making Harpo listen to you. I uhm, think it's something you'll deal with after he/she's born too:)

Yippee! have you practiced writing your new name yet?? And do you guys have a Costco near you? I uploaded some new photos to them and noticed that they do photographic gifts like custom stationery (really reasonable)...you could take a family picture when Harpo is born and use it for your thank-you cards =)

Yay for getting through bureaucrazy!
I remember how many steps were involved from back when Wes did it so I know how much annoyingness it takes.
Congrats. Can't wait to hear how Harpo's name beautifully blends.

Congratulations! That's really exciting. Not that it's quite the same, but my husband and I hyphenated when we got married, and now our kidlets share the same name. People still don't get that a man can change his name, though. They get so confused about the hyphen!
