A tooth! Yesterday. Natalie thinks this makes her grown up enough to eat solids. Her moms are still hanging on for six months (one month, one week to go...).
Wow! She's growing up so fast! ::sniff:: We had to wait 9 months for Seph's first tooth. I started her on solids at 5 months, just because she seemed to want them SO much. I just made very sure they were a much smaller part of her diet than the breast milk. I wonder if breast-fed babies might want solid food sooner because they can taste the food in mom's milk?
Yay for a tooth! My boys both have 4 each now. They sometimes get bity during nursing, but it is still a managable and positive experience at 10 mo. Not that you asked. We waited till 6+ months for solids. Tried rice and oatmeal around 4 or 5 mo. because they seemed interested, but they weren't into it. At 6 they were very ready and ate all kinds of things with gusto. They still love the boob, though...
We have both known for as long as we can remember that we wanted to have kids. We decided to start down the road to parenthood about three years ago, beginning with research. In May of 2004 we began inseminating, and in July, we hit the jackpot. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a partial molar pregnancy, and we endured a miscarriage, followed by months of medical treatment, monitoring, and frustration. We began trying to conceive again in May 2005 (against our doctor's advice). We were lucky to get pregnant again in July. Despite our fears and worries, this pregnancy went smoothly and ended with a wonderful home birth and a beautiful baby girl. A new chapter begins....
